Bank money creation impacts women in disproportionately negative ways
Recent research shows that how nations create money today is powerfully intensifying inequality and gaps in childcare, healthcare, social welfare, and more
I’ve been working for a few months now on a paper that explores the ways that gender equality and care work are undermined by the way our nations create their money supplies, today. I also describe some of the alternative ways that money creation can be used to increase equality and enable work that cares for children, the sick, the elderly, ecological systems, and our communities more broadly. My hope is to submit the paper to a journal in the next couple months.
I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at the first couple pages and give me feedback on this question: “What, if anything, in the introduction causes you to lose interest in reading further or would keep you from passing the paper along to someone else interested in money creation, gender, or care work?” Introducing the themes of the paper in a way that builds interest enough for people to read on or to pass it along is critical. If you can help me with just that piece, which requires reading only a couple pages, I will be most grateful.
